No Spring Melt Off (Yet) | Bellingham Photographer
Went for a drive along the Nooksack River the other day and was amazed by two things: the low water levels (even though we've had record snowfall in the mountains) and just how blue the water looked. The fact that the water level is still so low is easily attributed to the lack of spring melt-off, but the temperatures are starting to get warmer. I have no doubt that this time next month, what you see in the foreground of this image will be covered in freezing water.

Iris Fields
Last Friday I spent some time at the iris fields in Skagit County. You would be surprised how difficult it is to get down on one's stomach to photograph these flowers. They actually have ditches between each row, which makes it extremely complicated to photograph low without breaking one's back.
