I absolutely adore old barns.  I'm not sure what it is that I find so appealing about them, but I once wanted to do a coffee table book on old barns.  That was until I realized just how many coffee table books there are out there on old barns.

Since we really haven't had much of a winter in this area (dang it!), I thought I would post a photo taken from the one and only day we managed to have snow... back in early December.  Since then, it has been unseasonably warm in this part of the world.  In fact, we managed to break the all-time record for the warmest January in the state.  I want my winter back!

Peter the Kayaker

This is Peter. He was kayaking around the lake while I was taking photographs, and he approached me and asked if I would take his photo with the spectacular lake background. So, I did. This is what I captured.

Lake Padden in White

Yesterday we went for a walk around Lake Padden and nearly froze to death. We did it for two reasons - so I could take some photographs and so we could feed the ducks. Lake Padden has a steady duck population and with the cold water and frozen edges, we knew they would be hungry. Plus, it was a strong indication of just how hungry they were when we were at Padden a few days ago, and the ducks came running toward me as I was taking photographs.
