Experimenting with X-Rays

I've been experimenting with the x-ray filter. I thought this one turned out the best. Loving it!

Mt Shuksan and Mt Baker Ski Lodge

For some reason, I've been doing a lot of experimenting lately with coverting color to black and white. I find black and white brings out some details that can't quite be noticed in color shots. Take this photograph, for instance, with Mt. Shuskan in the background and the Mt. Baker Ski Lodge and trails in the foreground. While the ski lodge and trails are just as noticeable in both photographs, there are certain details - certain shadows and shadings - which pop in the black and white especially with Mt. Shuksan.

Nature's Color Contest

So Evil Pixie entered a photography contest, but she needs your vote. The contest is called "Nature's Colors" and I need your votes. If you follow this link: http://www.outdoorphotographer.com/photo-contests/2nd-annual-natures-colors/gallery.html, it will take you to a page. You'll need to register to vote, but on the left side there is a search button. Simply put in the name: Jack McCallum, and it will lead you to my photographs so you can vote. Every vote counts, and Evil Pixie needs every vote she can get! :)

Personal Favorite

Out of all the photographs I took that day, this one is probably my favorite.  There is something about this shot that speaks to me.  I'm not sure if it is the moon in the background, the naked limbs of the tree in the foreground, or just the shadows, but I really like this shot.  It may not be technically perfect, but it works for me.
