Summer Weather? | Bellingham Photographer

We haven't had much luck when it comes to the weather this year.  In fact, it has pretty much felt like autumn since last autumn.  The other day was no exception, but I decided to venture out in the wind and cold anyway.  Sure, I got wet from the rain, my hair looked like I had stood in a wind tunnel for 10 minutes, and my throat ached from the cold, but I still had fun.

The Girliest Flower | Bellingham Photographer

Yesterday I went to one of my favorite public gardens, and all the peonies were blooming.  As I was snapping away, I realized peonies are probably the girliest flower I have seen.  They remind me of ruffles and bows.  Their petals are like layers of petticoats.

Pentecost with Archbishop Brunett | Bellingham Photographer

Last Sunday I was asked to photograph Pentecost at one of the Native American Catholic Churches on a nearby reservation.  The event was a big deal because this year it was being presided over by Archbishop Alexander Brunett.  Admittedly, it was a difficult event to photograph.  There was little room to maneuver around with, and everyone seemed to want to stand in my way.  I felt like I really didn't have time to aim and focus, and most of the time I did not.  However, I did manage a few good shots.
